Operation Mia was born when Mia was rushed to emergency by a volunteer and had to be euthanized. She was so weak she couldn't hold her head up with her tiny little emaciated body. A necropsy determined long term neglect. She is one of many that has suffered way too long. Well, two years ago former volunteers met with the volunteers that are now going down the same path we did, and the same path the volunteers did before us. NO IT'S NOT GOING ON 2 YEARS, IT'S GOING ON OVER 10 YEARS!!!!. We put our hearts and souls into getting this so called "santuary" closed. Years went by that we fought with the Dept. of Ag, DuPage States attorneys office, gave deposition, picketted numerous times, were covered by the Daily Herold, etc.... At the time of our meeting with the current group, we were told that our first mistake was that we did not have our own attorney representing us. I was put back by that comment thinking that they will find out for themselves and put out alot of money for an attorney that has gotten them no farther along than what the past groups have done. So, attorney or not, Pet Rescue still remains open. It's beyond me why, and are all these state and city officicals being paid off? Do they have blinders on at the Dept of Ag? Can't any of these people see the suffering these poor animals are going through? I only hope that most of the animals that we cared for are gone, one way or another, taken out of their misery at the hands of these two crazy, hoarding pigs. I hope for the sake of the animals still under these rotting buildings that soon the officials will wake up! I pray for the poor souls of these animals every day.
